The Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and versatile Relief Worker to join our team on a casual basis. This role is crucial for ensuring our operations run smoothly by providing cover for permanent staff during periods of annual leave, sick leave, or high demand.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and adaptable individual who can expertly handle the precision of our warehouse operations and/or the specific demands of our early-morning delivery runs.

Key Responsibilities

Your tasks will vary day-to-day based on operational needs. Responsibilities are split between Driving and Warehouse duties and you may be required to perform either, depending on the roster requirements.

Driving Duties:

Commence shifts at our depot from 3:30 am for driving duties.

Accurately check and verify pre-assembled orders against the delivery run sheet and dockets before departure.

Strategically load the delivery vehicle, ensuring items are organised in reverse delivery order for maximum efficiency on the road.

Execute multi-drop delivery runs to customer sites, diligently checking off items at each location.

Accurately note any discrepancies (e.g., missing, incorrect, or damaged goods) on the delivery paperwork.

Complete the delivery run and return to the depot, typically finishing the shift by 11am.

Warehouse Duties:

Receiving: Safely unload inbound trucks, verifying goods against delivery dockets and checking for damage or temperature discrepancies.

Order Fulfilment: Pick and pack customer orders with a high degree of accuracy using pick slips.

Dispatch: Prepare, stage, and assist with loading orders for dispatch.

General Duties: Assist with stocktakes, maintain proper stock rotation (First-In, First-Out), and ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the coolroom.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

Valid Australian MR (Medium Rigid) Licence minimum.

Must be capable of and available for early morning starts (3:30 am).

Physically fit and capable of lifting crates up to 20kg.

Excellent attention to detail, particularly with checking paperwork and orders.

A pleasant and professional demeanour for all interactions with customers and co-workers.

The ability to work efficiently and independently whilst being part of a distributed team.

Proven reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

Highly Desirable:

Current High Risk Work Licence (LF Forklift Licence).

Previous experience in a similar delivery driver or warehouse role, especially with refrigerated goods.

Good knowledge of Orange and the Central West road network.
