Summary:
Opportunity to work in a Shore Based Maintenance Team supporting a large fleet of 17 high performance tugs. This is currently a two year contract with opportunities available for extension.
About the role
Establish yourself as a Marine Mechanical Engineer/Technician in the world’s busiest Iron Ore Port.
Support our Mechanical Marine Engineering Team on a 3/4 Roster (weeks).
Perform diagnosis and repair work on all vessel systems (Engine, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical).
Perform scheduled/routine maintenance to OEM standards.
Perform ad-hoc repairs and breakdown maintenance to a high level under pressure.
Access relevant data from various OEM and On-Site sources.
Maintain high standard of HSE compliance and reporting.
Perform repairs and maintenance on various shore-side and marine infrastructure.
Work with highly skilled tradesman from other disciplines (Electrical, Engineering, HVAC) to achieve exceptional engineering outcomes.
About you:
High level Mechanical skill set with a keen eye for detail and mechanical standards.
Possesses a positive attitude whilst being dedicated, reliable, motivated, and proactive to any task undertaken.
Professional approach across all levels of the operation.
Committed to follow and abide by company processes and procedures with a high safety culture standard.
Able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
Competent in all Microsoft platforms with computer skills essential.

Skills and experience
Mechanical Trade Certificate
Marine Engineer Class 3 NC certificate preferred or favourable or logged Engineering Sea Time or MED Certificate
Marine Experience
Current Australian driver’s license
Current First Aid Certificate
Australian Working Rights
Truck (MR/HR), Forklift, Dogging/Rigging and WAH certifications looked at favourably

Azimuth Marine is a high performing team of Marine Engineers working to keep BHPs fleet of Tug Boats operational. We work closely with Fleet Engineers and Technical Superintendents to keep the fleet operating at a high level with minimal downtime. This ability is underpinned by our members having strong trade backgrounds, in addition to Marine Engineering Certificates. We have a very well-equipped workshop with Machining/Fabrication Equipment and all the latest diagnostic tooling.
The successful candidate requires a Trade Certificate relevant to the Mechanical side of Marine Engineering (Diesel, Fitting/Machinist/Hydraulic). All Mechanical Trades are welcome to apply as we are keen to diversify the skill set of our team.
