Youth Psychosocial Support Packages (YPSP) and Youth Transitional Housing & Support Packages (YTHSP) are pilot programs designed to assist young people aged between 16-25 years with mental health challenges, with or without co-occurring alcohol and drug use to participate more in their community, social and economic life.
As the Senior Youth Worker you’ll work alongside our Coordinator to guide and support a passionate team delivering high-quality, youth-driven services. You’ll lead team rostering, planning, and leave coverage to ensure smooth daily operations. You'll also play an active part in recruiting, inducting, and training new Youth and Peer Workers, empowering them to confidently support young people facing complex mental health, alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges. You will also provide support and guidance to your team on client safety and complex issues.
What you will bring
You will bring your passionate and resilient nature and a drive to deliver quality supports to young people.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
- Diploma level qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or other related field
- Experience in case management and well-developed assessment skills with young people experiencing mental health and AOD challenges
- Proven leadership experience, including staff recruitment, training, induction, and rostering.
- Ability to provide practical and emotional support in relation to mentoring and informal counselling, development of independent living skills, opportunities to improve social and community participation, learning, volunteering and employment
- Experience working with young people in a person-centred, trauma informed, strengths based, child safe, youth-friendly, inclusive and evidence-based manner
- Good interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence. You must also have access to a reliable and safe vehicle as you will be expected to drive to see clients across Perth metro (mileage reimbursement will apply).

- Starting salary $99,469 per annum pro rata plus 12% superannuation
- Enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount.
- Additional 3 days (full time) leave per year and ability to purchase additional leave
