Melbourne City Mission (MCM) is a leading community services organisation that innovatively works alongside thousands of Victorians and their communities to overcome barriers experienced through Homelessness, Disability, Palliative care, Early Childhood Intervention Services and Education. With deep experience working with communities experiencing disadvantage, MCM advocates for systemic change, working across all sectors to sustainably disrupt such disadvantage.
The Role MCM is now seeking an experienced HR ER Business Partner to join the People & Culture team to support business leaders to deliver strategic objectives and results that drive quality outcomes. In this new 12-month fixed-term role (with potential for extension or permanency), you will act as a key advisor and strategic partner to business leaders throughout the MCM business.
As part of this exciting new role and after a recent announcement, MCM, in partnership with CoAct, will deliver Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) services as a specialist youth provider. Inclusive Employment Australia replaces Disability Employment Services and aims to create a more inclusive employment landscape for people with disability, injury, or health conditions. This role will have a major focus on the new IEA program.
Further responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead complex employee relations case management and performance matters
- Recruitment and induction of new staff for the IEA program
- Drive enterprise bargaining and manage union engagement
- Provide expert interpretation of Awards, EAs and legislation
- Build people leadership capability through coaching and training
- Align workforce strategies with organisational goals and deliver high-impact HR solutions
- Support change projects, workforce planning and compliance
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
- Skills in start-up community-based programs/services
- Degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong background in ER/IR, including investigations, case management and EBA negotiations
- Solid generalist HR experience and understanding of employment legislation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills along with strong recruitment and induction experience
- Experience in workforce metrics, data insights and compliance reporting
- Current driver's licence and ability to travel across Melbourne sites
