The Role
As a Mental Health Occupational Therapist at Northern Therapy Solutions, you will be part of our specialist mental health team, working closely with participants and their support networks, in their homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a variety of assessments, including functional capacity reviews, assistive technology recommendations, and housing assessments.
Develop comprehensive, evidence-based reports.
Deliver individualised therapy interventions to meet client needs and goals.
Engage in safety planning with participants to manage risks effectively.
Collaborate with a dedicated mental health team through regular supervision, case discussions, and team conferences.
Skills and Experience
AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience working with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use, and psychotic disorders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
An understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
Critical thinking, crisis management, and risk assessment skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Passion for ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
