Who are we?

A privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the scrap metal recycling industry. Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.

What are we looking for?

An experienced Forklift Yard Operator who enjoys variety and takes pride in their work. This role also involves traffic control duties, so a Traffic Controller (TC) ticket would be a big advantage.

You must hold an LF Forklift licence and have a proven background operating forklifts in an industrial/outdoor environment. If you’ve worked on container forklifts, even better — but if not, we’re happy to train the right person. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be shown what’s expected and then trusted to take ownership.

You’ll need to be physically fit, adaptable, safety-focused, and ready to jump between different jobs in our fast-paced yard. A driver's licence and your own reliable transport are essential due to limited public transport options in the area.

What will the responsibilities be?

Operating forklifts to move materials across the yard (container forklift experience highly regarded)

Loading and unloading bins and trucks

Directing and managing traffic flow on site (TC ticket highly regarded)

Completing daily pre-start checks and basic forklift maintenance

Assisting customers and drivers onsite with a friendly, helpful attitude

General labouring duties

Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised worksite

What you will need:

Current LF Forklift Licence with proven forklift operating experience

Experience in physical/manual labour in an industrial or outdoors environment

Container forklift experience (desirable but not essential – training provided)

Traffic Control ticket (desirable)

A strong commitment to safety and following procedures

Driver’s licence and reliable transport

Clear communication skills (two-way radio experience highly regarded)

Flexible, can-do attitude – ready to jump into different tasks

Availability Monday to Friday (6am–4pm) + occasional Saturday work

Work Environment

Outdoor scrap metal yard – dusty, noisy, fast-moving

Physically demanding, hands-on role.
