Brickworks is seeking experienced Forklift and Machine Operators to join our Bristile Roofing plant in Wacol, QLD.

Reporting to the Plant Manager and Shift Supervisors, your responsibilities will include unloading and loading trucks, safely storing products, packing orders, delivering outstanding customer service, and operating manufacturing machinery involved in the production of building products.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday (4 days per week) 6:00am to 4:30pm. Plus,

​Duties include but are not limited to:

• Safely operate forklifts and other machinery to load and unload trucks.
• Maintain the operations cleanliness and organisation.
• Ensure pallets are properly wrapped and labelled, maintaining product integrity.
• Maintain forklifts in accordance with the SOP's, ensuring daily checks are undertaken and the equipment is kept clean and tidy.
• Assist with monthly stocktakes and subsequent yard recounts for stock reconciliation.
• Complete additional tasks around the site as and when required.
• Set up, operate and clean mechanical equipment in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at all times.
• Set controls, fix attachments and materials to prepare for operation.
• Perform basic problem solving and diagnosis of machine issues and escalate non-routine issues to maintenance team for resolution.
• Assist and contribute to Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner, compliant with WHS/WHSE policies and procedures..

Success Requirements:

• Current Forklift License and current Australian Drivers Licence.

• Experience operating Linde forklifts preferred.

• Strong skills in operating a forklift safely and efficiently and loading heavy vehicles.

• Strong ability to operate manufacturing machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.

• Strong skill in problem solving and fault-finding activities to identify and resolve machine issues/breakdowns.

• Excellent time management skills

• Proficient computer skills.

• A team player with a keen eye for detail.

• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

• Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg repeatedly throughout shift

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

• Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia
