The Senior Systems Engineer will contribute to strategic initiatives, continuous improvement, and ongoing technical operations. Furthermore, they will provide support, guidance, and coaching to other teams within the organisation to maximise solution value. The team member will strive to empower others through foundational platforms and services.
The position reports to the IT Systems Engineering Team Lead and works with internal team members, external vendors, and partners. Aside from fellow Systems Engineers, the most frequent collaboration occurs with Cloud Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects, and DevOps Engineers.
Additionally, the position regularly collaborates with Project Managers, Security Engineers, Network Engineers, Database Engineers, Backup & Recovery Engineers, and Infrastructure Engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

DELIVERY AND OPERATIONS

• Collaborate with project teams to plan, design, and implement solutions across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Proactively monitor and operate infrastructure systems and solutions.
• Produce and maintain knowledge and technical resources for the delivery and operations of technology solutions.
• Contribute to the resolution, root cause analysis, and preventative measures of alerts and incidents.
• Identify, assess, and share risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Validate and remediate solution compliance with organisation policies and our regulatory environment.
• Oversee and provide feedback on solution deliverables.
• Design infrastructure, platform, and tooling solutions in collaboration with stakeholders

ENABLEMENT AND INNOVATION

• Implement and maintain controls and processes to provide prompt feedback on quality.
• Administer and enhance tools for technical delivery and operations.
• Identify, advise, and implement continuous improvement across the technology landscape.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

To succeed in this role, a candidate will need:

• 5–10 years with proven hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining enterprise infrastructure.
• Deeply familiar with Microsoft technologies and can manage both cloud (Azure/GCP) and on-prem environments.
• A cross-functional team player with experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Comfortable working with version control and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps).
• A continual learner—someone who stays current with trends, tools, and practices.
