About the Role
WorkPac are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with strong design and project coordination experience to join our client’s team in Mackay. This role is instrumental in supporting the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from initial concept and tender preparation through to procurement, coordination, and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare technical documentation, detailed designs, and estimates for tenders and engineering projects.
Attend customer meetings and provide engineering/drafting support throughout the project.
Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring work aligns with budget, timelines, and specifications.
Maintain and update project control documents including BOMs, procurement logs, and transmittals.
Manage procurement, support construction activities, and compile internal/external reports.
Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards, codes, WHS regulations, and internal quality systems.
Skills and Experience Required
Mechanical Engineering degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical design and documentation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
RPEQ registered or actively working towards registration.
Strong understanding of Australian Standards, local government guidelines, and construction practices.
Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.
Project management experience is desirable.
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Valid Class C driver’s licence.
