The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all cleaning operations at our clients Tumut site. You will lead a small team, manage supplies, ensure compliance with WHS protocols, and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and presentation.

About the role

This position is divided into two key components: 1) supervising and coordinating the cleaning team, and 2) performing regular hands-on cleaning duties to maintain site standards, and provide shift coverage.

This role is split into 20 hours per week of supervision at $38.58 /hour and the remaining hours of hands-on cleaning duties at $33.38 /hour.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and train cleaning staff to meet client KPIs

Conduct daily site inspections and address impromptu cleaning requests

Maintain and audit cleaning run check sheets, exit-clean checklists and pre-occupancy touch-ups

Manage inventory of cleaning chemicals, equipment and PPE; prepare and review Chemical Safety Data Sheets

Ensure supply and chemical stocks are correctly stored and up to date

Collaborate with GLS management on a regular basis

Ensure WHS procedures

Handle client or staff complaints and recommend corrective actions

Keep accurate records: inspection reports, training logs

Participate in performance evaluations

Provide shift coverage when others are away

About You

Proven experience supervising commercial or institutional cleaning teams

Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, products and equipment

Excellent leadership, communication and time-management skills

High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Sound understanding of WHS regulations and chemical-handling protocols

Physically fit and able to lift, bend and stand for extended periods

Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally for audits
