About the role
Scotch Oakburn College is seeking experienced and passionate Teachers of Mathematics to join our dynamic team in Launceston, Tasmania. We have a part-time position available to commence in Term 4, 2025 with approximate FTE of 0.50, then from 2026 we have a full-time role which will see you contributing to the delivery of an exceptional secondary education experience for our students. We are open to part-time applications for the 2026 position.
What you'll be doing
Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons to students across a range of year levels from Year 7 - 12 (TCE)
Assess and provide meaningful feedback to students to support their learning and growth
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Mathematics curriculum and teaching resources
Support students both within and outside the classroom, ensuring their academic and pastoral needs are met
Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and the broader school community
What we're looking for
Teaching qualifications and registration to practice in Tasmania
Extensive experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary level, preferably to TCE level
Strong content knowledge and the ability to foster a love of learning in students
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
A collaborative and innovative approach to teaching and learning
A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
