About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in financial planning, reporting, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This position supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate analysis and insights into the company’s financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in formulating and implementing budgetary and accounting policies to support organisational goals.

Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for management, board members, statutory bodies, and shareholders.

Conduct financial investigations and reports relating to audits, mergers, capital financing, taxation, suspected fraud, and overall business performance.

Evaluate and monitor operating costs, income, and expenditure to enhance financial efficiency.

Ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.

Provide expert advice on financial and taxation matters relating to business structures and growth strategies.

Prepare and submit company taxation returns; liaise with regulatory authorities as required.

Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and brokers to manage funds and investments.

Introduce and maintain effective internal accounting systems, including the application of accounting software.

Maintain robust internal control systems to ensure financial integrity and transparency.

Assess financial risks and manage cash flow for capital investment and development projects.

Support the implementation of auditing systems and compliance processes, ensuring records are retained in accordance with legal and regulatory frameworks.

Provide input into insolvency matters and support restructuring, recovery, or liquidation activities as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar financial or accounting role.

Proficient in financial reporting, auditing practices, and accounting software.

High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
