About the Role
As part of our Urban Forest Team, you’ll help maintain and enhance the City’s urban forest. Your work will directly contribute to the health and beauty of our streetscapes and public spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tree pruning, removal, and planting
- Crown lift pruning for pedestrians and vehicle clearance.
- Rapid response to reactive tree management task such as storm damaged trees
- Occasional stump herbicide spraying
- Operating modern equipment with a strong focus on safety
You’ll work under the guidance of the Arboriculture Leading Hand and Urban Forest Supervisor, alongside a supportive team that values collaboration and professionalism.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- A team player with a commitment to safety
- Experienced in arboriculture or similar operational environments
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Certificate II in Arboriculture (desirable)
- MR Driver’s Licence (Essential)
- Current Basic Worksite Traffic Management Qualification
- White Card (Essential)
- Chainsaw operation ticket (Essential)
- Familiarity with AS4373 pruning standards
- Basic knowledge of common tree species
- Ability to safely operate mechanical plant and hand tools
Salary: $70,010 - $73,075 per annum depending on level of experience and qualifications.
Hours: 6:15am – 3:30pm (includes 15 mins daily overtime paid at time and a half, 6-6:15am)
