The Opportunity
As a General Hand Property Management and Maintenance, you will:
Carry out a variety of minor repairs, maintenance and inspections at City-owned buildings and facilities
Work on tasks like basic carpentry, painting, fittings replacement, patching, and minor plumbing
Assist in the delivery of scheduled maintenance programs and emergency repairs
Liaise with your Supervisor about materials, work requests, and maintenance priorities
Safely operate power tools and small plant to complete assigned work
Monitor asset condition and report defects or hazards promptly
Maintain work records and support the coordination of contractors when required
This is a physical, practical role with a strong customer service focus — perfect for someone with trade skills who enjoys problem solving and variety in their day.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
Previous experience in general building or facilities maintenance
Practical knowledge of WHS requirements and safety-first work habits
Basic skills across multiple trades (e.g. patching, painting, plumbing, carpentry)
Confidence using hand tools, power tools and digital systems for work orders
A current C Class Driver’s Licence and White Card
You’ll also need to work well independently and as part of a small team, with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Desirable qualifications include a Forklift Ticket, EWP certificate or experience working in a government or facilities environment.

What we offer you
· Permanent full-time role with a 9-day fortnight
· Level 3 salary $78,249 + super
· Additional Superannuation matching up to 5%
· 17.5% Leave Loading and 4 weeks annual leave
