Make a meaningful impact with Uniting Communities' Chrysalis - Forensic Mental Health Service.
We're seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Forensic Mental Health team supporting individuals who have been found unfit to stand trial or not guilty due to mental impairment.
This role blends intensive case management with psychosocial support to empower clients in building independent, connected lives.
About the Role:
Working within the Chrysalis – Forensic Mental Health Service, you will:
Provide trauma-informed case management and 1:1 and group-based support
Develop wellness and recovery strategies tailored to client needs
Source and coordinate long-term housing in collaboration with providers
Support clients to strengthen independent living and relationship skills
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with UC and funding guidelines
Collaborate and refer clients to appropriate internal and external services
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
A minimum of 2 years post-grad experience in complex mental health casework
Experience supporting people with psychotic disorders and/or forensic history
Strong understanding of recovery-oriented and therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing)
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
A valid driver’s licence and ability to obtain First Aid/CPR
Relevant DHS employment clearances
