Job Description:
We are hiring! Gold Coast Disability and Youth is seeking a Groups Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and facilitating the coordination of group activities for clients with disabilities within the support company. We require a dedicated professional to ensure that all groups are well-organized, inclusive, and meet the diverse needs of clients. This role will work closely with staff, clients, and their families to create a positive and engaging environment that promotes independence, social participation, and skill development.
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and monitor group activities, ensuring they align with the needs, goals, and preferences of clients.
Supervise and support a team of support workers and volunteers, providing guidance on best practices for supporting clients in group settings.
Organize and manage the scheduling of group activities, ensuring optimal use of resources and smooth operation of sessions.
Maintain accurate records of client participation, progress, and feedback. Provide regular reports on group activities to management and relevant stakeholders.
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages client participation and interaction. Ensure all clients feel safe, respected, and valued.
Ensure all activities and services comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies, maintaining high standards of care and support.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other support staff to ensure coordination and clarity regarding group activities, goals, and outcomes.
Requirements:
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in disability support services, particularly in group coordination or group facilitation.
NDIS Working Screening Check.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
Current Blue & Yellow card (or ability to obtain).
Driver's license and own car.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and implement person-centered plans and activities.
Experience in supervising and supporting teams.
Ability to work with diverse populations and manage varying levels of client need.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
