About Us

At the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), we champion the interests of local government and communities across the state. As a peak body, we work collaboratively with councils, government departments, and sector partners to drive innovation, influence policy, and deliver impactful programs. Our Early Years team is at the forefront of shaping Victoria’s early years landscape, and we’re excited to welcome a new team member to help us deliver on transformative reform.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Project Officer – Early Years to support the implementation of the Kindergarten Expansion and Reform project, in partnership with local councils and the Department of Education. This role is pivotal in aligning local government efforts with the broader early years reform agenda, ensuring that Victorian children and families benefit from high-quality, accessible early childhood services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide research and administrative support to meet objectives outlined in the Department of Education’s funding agreement.

Assist councils with practical support across project coordination, data analysis, and resource development.

Contribute to building sector capacity through evidence-based insights and policy implementation.

Organise and facilitate meetings, events, networks, and communications that drive project outcomes.

Collaborate with the Community Wellbeing team to support broader initiatives within the unit.

This role is located at 1 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne, adjacent to Parliament Gardens. We offer a welcoming, healthy, and inclusive workplace and a hybrid model of working from the office and working from home.
