Role details

The Nutrition and Dietetics Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Dietitian (Clinical Lead) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

  • Contribute to the advancement of quality nutrition and dietetic services and optimal patient care through:
  • direct provision of high level clinical services
  • clinical leadership for service development
  • representation on relevant committees at a local and/or state-wide level
  • quality improvement and research activities
  • education and training of current and future health professionals and support staff.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to the Director Dietetics.

About the Team

Our Nutrition and Dietetics Service delivers care to patients, both children and adults, throughout our hospital departments as well as in outpatient, community and rural settings. As experts in nutrition, our Dietitians provide education and practical support to enable patients to make dietary choices that will maximise their health and wellbeing. The Nutrition and Dietetic Department also:

  • Facilitates practical placements for student dietitians and on the job training for new graduates;
  • Undertakes quality improvement activities, and contributes to research and advancement of best practice nutrition care;
  • Provides expert guidance and support to Foodservice operations at each hospital facility.
