The Bowen Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Liaison Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

The Clinical Liaison Nurse (CLN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities are predominantly clinical in nature, but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities. The CLN provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care-specifically including discharge planning and referring to services. This position provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.

About the Team

Bowen Hospital is a 27 Bed rural hospital servicing the town of Bowen and surrounding areas located 200 kms south of Townsville and 185 kms north of Mackay providing inpatient acute care and sub-acute care: general outpatient services and 24 hr Accident and Emergency service. Other services provided at the Bowen Hospital include speech therapy, physiotherapy, social work, occupational therapy, community mental health, pharmacy and radiography and Frail Aged Nurse Practitioner team. Whilst administrative services are located at Bowen Hospital, support services including Finance; Purchasing and Supply, Human Resources; Patient Safety, Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety are located at Mackay Base Hospital.
