About the Opportunity
RSG Recruitment is currently partnering with a well-established and fast-growing civil contractor to recruit a Project Engineer for an exciting opportunity based in Newcastle, NSW.

This role is ideal for a driven Project Engineer looking to contribute to the delivery of high-profile civil infrastructure projects across transport, defence, and renewables. You'll be joining a business with strong project pipelines and the capability to self-perform work, offering both stability and growth potential.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing and delivering packages of work from planning through to execution.
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to meet program and budget expectations.
• Supporting project leadership in scheduling, cost control, and daily reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Conducting inspections, managing ITPs, and maintaining project documentation.
• Facilitating stakeholder engagement and communication across project teams.
• Driving productivity and lookahead planning to support program outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 4–6+ years’ experience in civil construction – ideally across roads, structures, utilities, or complex infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage subbies and coordinate across multiple disciplines.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and QA processes.
• Experience working to TfNSW and government specifications is a key requirement for this role.
• Valid driver’s license and flexibility for regional project travel if required.
