CAPE YORK MECHANICS AND VEHICLE RECOVERY are seeking a QUALIFIED LIGHT VEHICLE MECHANIC to start immediately and join our expanding team and busy workshop

We are located at the very northern tip of Australia in Seisia, Far North Queensland approx 1,000kms North of Cairns. Located at the end of the famous Old Telegraph Track.

These positions provide a unique opportunity of working in a remote, beautiful & rugged part of Australia with a great work / life balance. Explore, Camp and Fish the most iconic spots in Far North Queensland Including the Old Tele Track & Torres Strait Islands

Qualifications & experience

Must be Light Vehicle Mechanic - Trade Qualified

Hold a current Australian open driver's licence
HR licence is desirable but not essential

High attention to detail and workmanship / quality

Good time management

The ability to work unsupervised

Tasks & responsibilities

Diagnosing a wide range of light vehicles, mainly 4WD's and touring vehicles

Carry out repairs to light vehicles coming off the Old Tele Track and damage caused by corrugations on the famous PDR

Carry out services as per manufacturer standards

Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and repair faults

Maintain detailed records of all work completed

What we will offer

Well above award rate ($40 - $60 per hour) based on experience.

(Please note: this is NOT A FIFO POSITION, you will be required to relocate for the role)

IMMEDIATE START - our peak season is between May and October when the workshop is at its busiest. October to May the workshop will reduce to standard working days and opportunities for time off to enjoy the Cape in the wet season
