Primarily responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of forklifts and other material handling equipment at the ife workshop and external sites as required. Technicians are to have a strong mechanical and electrical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, service and inspections on forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.

Input detailed records of all maintenance and repair work into ife software.

Follow up service and repair jobs then sign off as completed in ife software.

Order and replace parts as needed.

Ensure work vans are stocked with parts, fittings, and oils etc.

Maintain a high level of presentation for work vehicles

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, traffic laws and company policies.

Provide technical support and training to fellow staff and forklift operators.

Follow instructions as provided by management.

Keep the workshop clean and organized.

Fault finding and troubleshooting skills.

Attending breakdowns.

Always deliver a professional level of service to clients.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Ability to adapt and be flexible in the workplace.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively by contacting clients prior to arrival.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience with relevant trade/mechanical qualifications.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail.

Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.

Forklift license (desired).

Ability to weld (desired)

Current full manual driver’s licence.

Valid truck driving licences are advantageous with a clean driving record.

Own Tools.

A willingness to learn and continually improve skill sets.
