About the role

Are you an experienced Plant Operator looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operator to join our team at Heavy Plant Hire Australia Pty Ltd in Newcastle, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a range of heavy machinery, playing a crucial part in the successful delivery of our contract crushing projects.

What you'll be doing

Safely operate and maintain a variety of heavy plant equipment, including excavators, loaders, and dump trucks

Carry out pre-start checks and report any issues or faults with the machinery

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

Contribute to the successful completion of crushing projects by working closely with the wider team

Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment at job sites

Maintain accurate records of work completed and hours worked

Subject to drug and alcohol testing regularly

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Plant Operator, ideally within the construction and quarry industry

Licences and certifications for the operation of heavy machinery, such as excavators, loaders, and dump trucks

Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Experience with mobile crushing and screening equipment

Use of scales in front end loaders
