About the Statistical Genetics Group:
This position is within the Statistical Genetics Group which researches the role of inherited genetic variation in risk of disease, with a particular interest in skin cancer. We work in close collaboration with the Cancer Control Group. Both groups operate within the broader Population Health Program. The role reports to the Senior Research Officer, Statistical Genetics, as well as the project’s Chief Investigators.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
With the support of the Project Leader and Chief Investigators, the Project Manager will:
- Prepare project documentation including protocol, SOPs, ethics submissions, consent forms, recruitment materials and survey forms.
- Execute the protocol to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) trial standards
- Supervise the research assistant working on the project
- Develop and maintain a REDCap database
- Enter and manage data to clinical trial standard
- Prepare project reports for investigators and the human research ethics committee
- Ensure work practices comply with the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act, related legislative requirements and the Institute’s Work Health & Safety (WH&S) policies and procedures
- Model and promote excellence and integrity, adhering to the highest quality and ethical standards
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in science or health-related field relevant to clinical studies with human volunteers.
- Proven record working to a high standard in human research studies.
- Outstanding communication skills in both written and oral English, with ability to explain complex protocols to participants.
- Absolute attention to detail.
- Experience in preparing study documentation, including ethics submissions, information / consent forms, survey forms etc.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, commitments and handle competing demands without compromising standards of service and quality.
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including ability/aptitude in the use of office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated competency with database packages (preferably REDCap).
- Ability to rapidly acquire and implement new skills.

Remuneration: Salary range is $106,593 to $118,347 per annum plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for two (2) years.
