About the role
The cardiac scientist position at the North West Hospital and Health Service is responsible in supporting the tele-cardiac investigation (T-CI) service at Mount Isa Hospital including holter monitoring and exercise stress testing which is overseen by cardiac scientists and cardiology team from Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in Metro North HHS.
The Senior Cardiac Scientist role also provides independent investigations and reporting for ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
You will be part of a team that actively contributes to patient safety by following policies, procedures and protocols of the North West Hospital and Health Service.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- Mandatory Qualification requirement - The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree qualification in science (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology, from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Whilst not mandatory, relevant additional qualifications or evidence of considerable professional development in cardiac clinical measurements would be well regarded.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
