Pathology Queensland Caboolture is one of a group of three laboratories located at Caboolture, Redcliffe and The Prince Charles Hospitals. All the laboratories are accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA). It is a policy of the laboratory services coordinated by the TPCH Laboratory to encourage interchange of staff between the Redcliffe, Caboolture and TPCH Laboratories to foster close liaison between the laboratories and professional development of all staff within The Prince Charles Laboratory Group.
What you'll do
- Participate in continuous shift scientific rostering at the Caboolture Laboratory, performing simple to complex investigations, in each of the disciplines – Haematology, Transfusion. Chemical Pathology & Microbiology.
- Be responsible for the verification and validation of results.
- Actively support the provision of a client–focused and cost-effective laboratory service.
This position is required to participate in a continuous shift roster covering a service offering 24hrs, 7 days per week as required.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to perform simple to complex investigations, in all disciplines for which the Caboolture Laboratory is responsible.
- Ability to efficiently prioritize specimens, perform tests accurately and efficiently without direct supervision and work independently towards the logical solution of scientific and technical problems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of a client-focused and cost-effectively laboratory service.
