Capable and experienced trade carpenter required for work with bridge maintenance teams based from a depot at Waratah, NSW.

This role will involve working on various projects throughout the broader Newcastle region. Formwork and concreting experience will be preferred.

Duties will include working on general maintenance and construction projects linked to the road network, including maintenance of bridges and drainage structures.

You may be required to live away from home during the week at times depending on project locations, with accommodation and transport provided, and applicable allowances paid for out-of-pocket expenses.

This role will involve working full time hours of work initially until end of September, with potential for further work beyond this time. A start of work ASAP is required. Your working week will comprise of 4 days - working 9.5hrs/day - allowing for a great work/life balance.

Successful Applicants will need;

Carpentry licence/Trade certificate - Cert III in Carpentry or equivalent

current WHS White Card - essential

Unrestricted NSW driver licence essential - with MR licence or above an advantage but not essential

Worker On Foot card - or willingness to obtain (online link able to be provided for successful applicant)

good all round fitness for manual work tasks

previous experience with road or bridge construction / maintenance will be highly regarded
