We are looking for a Complaints and Risk Advisor (AO4) to work with one of our clients in the State Government sector.

Hudson is proud to partner with a Queensland Government department to recruit a detail-focused and confident Complaints and Risk Advisor (AO4) for a 6-month contract opportunity. This is a fantastic role for someone experienced in complaints handling, case coordination, and risk management who is ready to contribute to a high-performing integrity and employee relations team.

Key Details:

  • Rate: $58.02/hour + Super

  • Anticipated Contract Length: 6 months

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Location: Brisbane CBD

  • Classification: AO4 (Qld Public Service Officers and Other Employees Award – State 2015)

About the Role:

As a Complaints and Risk Advisor, you will support the Intake and Assessment Unit with end-to-end complaints coordination, database administration, and the preparation of sensitive documentation. You will provide high-quality advice and administrative support to internal stakeholders and help ensure best practice complaints and risk management procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the intake process for employee and student complaints, including risk-based assessments and referrals

  • Maintain accurate records and update the department’s complaints management database

  • Liaise with schools, regional offices, HR business partners, and external agencies to support complaint investigations and responses

  • Prepare documentation for case management, including suspension and risk advice, code of conduct breaches, and referrals

  • Contribute to performance reporting, ministerial briefs, and compliance with corporate reporting requirements

  • Deliver in-house training on case handling processes, systems, and policy application

  • Conduct research and analysis on sensitive matters and assist in continuous process improvements

  • Provide administrative support to the Intake and Assessment team and senior managers during peak periods

  • Ensure information is handled confidentially and in line with departmental policy and governance standards

About You:

  • Experience in a similar complaints, case management, or integrity-based AO4 role within government or a regulated environment

  • Strong knowledge of administrative and risk management processes

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy

  • Proficient in complaints databases, information systems, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Confident written communicator capable of preparing reports, briefs, and official correspondence

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative approach to working across business units

  • A flexible team player with initiative, resilience, and a commitment to professional integrity

Casual Loading

Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
