About your new role!

This is a key role for an experienced Google Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation and optimisation of a large-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

You’ll work closely with cloud architects, application teams, and key stakeholders in finance and security to build secure, scalable cloud foundations and drive cost and compliance governance.

Key tasks for this role include:

• Designing and implementing GCP Landing Zones, IAM policies, and security guardrails
• Developing custom RBAC models and governance controls
• Integrating logs with SIEM tools for real-time threat monitoring
• Creating dashboards/alerts for GCP cost, compliance drift and security posture
• Setting up chargeback/showback models and resource labelling
• Driving alignment with GCP best practices in security, cost and performance
• Building and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates
• Producing technical documentation, runbooks and SOPs

About You!

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong experience designing and managing GCP in enterprise or government environments
• Deep understanding of GCP IAM, billing structures, logging and compliance
• Proven skills in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager)
• Experience integrating GCP telemetry into SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk, Chronicle)
• Excellent stakeholder skills across architecture, security, DevOps and finance
• Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing mindset

Preferable to have Government or large complex enterprise organisations.

Also a background in other clouds, python/coding skills, DevOps.

Qualifications for the role include:

• Demonstrated GCP engineering experience in large/complex environments
• Google Cloud certifications (e.g. Cloud Architect, Security Engineer) are a plus
• Familiarity with ISM, ISO 27001 or SOC 2 compliance frameworks
• Experience with cloud financial management or FinOps practices highly desirable
