Come and work in of the most dynamic communities in Tasmania! Brighton Council’s Work Services team have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Reserves Maintenance Worker.
You are passionate and love to work collaboratively with others. You will be responsible for providing a professional range of customer focused services, which promotes a high level of safety and environmental awareness associated with Council’s Parks and Reserves operations.
You will have at least one years’ experience in a similar field, OR you are looking for a career change and possess an understanding of what is involved in a parks and gardens or reserves maintenance type of position, demonstrating your knowledge and experience in maintenance procedures for associated plant and equipment, coupled with a willingness to learn.
You are an effective communicator and can relate well to others, including working in a small team environment and communicate effectively with members of the public and contractors. You also understand work health and safety practices, including incident reporting when necessary.
You will possess a current medium rigid licence and white card, or have the capacity to attain them, as well as having a current (unrestricted) drivers licence to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
Although not essential at this stage, it would be highly desirable if you have or the capacity to obtain a Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent) or a willingness to undertake further studies, as well as a Chainsaw Licence, First Aid and an approved certificate for Chemical User Applications and Safety at Roadworks accreditations.
Salary Range: Municipal Worker Level 3 to 4: $69,170 to $72,314 per annum - salary to be negotiated with the successful applicant and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
This position attracts a 15.5% superannuation entitlement.

Position Hours: Full-Time - a typical working week is Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm (30 minutes lunch), noting the Friday worked hours are 7.30am to 4.00pm, allowing for a 9-day fortnight.
