About the role
Join the City of Melbourne as the Planning and Performance Lead – Strategic Planning and play a pivotal role in shaping how one of Australia’s most dynamic cities plans, performs, and reports. In this key role, you’ll engage across the City of Melbourne to influence strategy formulation. You will lead a critical portfolio within a collaborative team and drive visibility of our strategic objectives for staff across the organisation, aligning business activities with the Council Plan.
You'll drive high-impact projects that enhance strategic planning and collaborate closely with strategy and policy stakeholders across the organisation to ensure compliance with statutory requirements while delivering transparent, high-quality outcomes for our community. You will
Lead an integrated and strategic approach to integrated planning and performance management, shaping Melbourne’s implementation of the legislated framework
Partner with the Corporate Planning, Corporate Reporting and Systems Leads to establish and maintain best practice in planning
Lead a community of practice of Melbourne’s strategy and planning professionals to drive strategic excellence
Enhance team capabilities in reporting and foster a culture of transparency throughout the organisation.
Support the development, analysis and delivery of Council’s Annual Report and other legislated and periodic reporting obligations
You will bring
Tertiary qualifications in Business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Extensive experience in integrated corporate planning, strategy or policy, or business or public administration.
Excellent communication skills to a range of audiences, and the ability to implementing change in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, opportunities, and propose effective solutions.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and manage projects and resources within agreed timelines.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, share knowledge, and resolve issues.
