The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and capable Accountant with at least 1 year of experience in public practice to join our team. As we continue to grow, we are actively expanding our Small Business Restructuring (SBR) services in partnership with Worrells, one of Australia’s leading insolvency firms.

This role suited to a professional who can assess business financials, identify viable restructuring opportunities, and guide clients through the SBR process. You will play a key role in managing client engagement, preparing restructuring proposals, and coordinating with Worrells to ensure smooth implementation and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

Liaise with clients to assess debt situations and discuss viable options

Reviewing financial performance and business viability for restructuring

Evaluate client eligibility for Small Business Restructuring (SBR) and prepare documentation accordingly.

Collaborate with registered practitioners and liquidator to facilitate SBR registrations, creditor proposals and liquidation process.

Prepare and review cashflow forecasts based on projected income and expenses

Engage with stakeholders during proposal periods and post-acceptance of restructuring plans and liquidation.

Conducting financial investigations, preparing reports and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, suspected fraud and insolvency

Coordinate communications with the registered liquidators, restructuring practitioners, ATO, creditors, and credit reporting bodies

Monitor and manage a portfolio of up to 60-70 clients, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met

Preparing financial statements, reports, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders

Assisting with account reconciliation, receivables tracking, and invoice management

Supervising junior administrative staff and assisting in workflow management

Draft submissions for GIC remissions and hardship relief with the ATO

Assisting with the implementation of accounting systems and processes

About You
We are looking for someone who has:

Completed a degree in professional accounting.

Prior experience in insolvency, restructuring, credit, or accounting roles (1 year required)

Strong understanding of financial statements, business structures, and tax obligations

Experience in liaising with registered practitioners and regulatory bodies such as the ATO

Able to manage multiple files and competing deadlines with accuracy

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and accounting systems

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent communication skills – fluent in English, with additional fluency in Hindi and Nepali highly regarded
