About the Opportunity
Nestled in the grounds of the Kingsgrove–West Bexley Uniting Church, Uniting West Bexley Preschool has long been a part of our community, teaching young children the crucial skill of learning that will ease their transition to ‘big school’, and far beyond.
Our warm and welcoming service operates during school terms and provides stimulating indoor and outdoor environments. Our programs are designed to inspire your child’s desire to learn, embracing purposeful play and group activities that encourage their curiosity, confidence, creativity and self-expression.
Uniting West Bexley Preschool is a 50-place preschool that has achieved a rating of exceeding the National Quality Standard. The preschool operates 8.30-4pm
This is a permanent part time role working 2 days per week!
What you’ll be doing in this role
As a Diploma Qualified Educator, you’ll provide quality education and care to children to help support and facilitate their learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and learning framework!
Your care work may include:
- Contribute to the development of programs which reflect the approved learning framework.
- Developing positive and respectful relationships that support children, their families and community.
- Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.
- Documenting children’s learning through observations and assessments against learning outcomes
Who we’re looking for
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (essential), with previous experience working at a Diploma Level in an early learning service.
- A work history that demonstrates recording observations, writing learning stories and supporting the planning of a successful curriculum using the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Understand the National Quality Framework and EYLF
- Valid First Aid and Child Protection certification
- Full Working Rights to work on a permanent full time basis
- You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
