THE COLLEGE
Established in 2003 MBBC is a P – 12 boys’ school set in the leafy bayside suburb of Manly West. It currently has 500 plus enrolments. At MBBC the Primary School consists of Years Prep to 6 with the Primary School Years 7 – 12.

THE POSITION
The role of the Spanish Teacher is to deliver engaging and high-quality Spanish language instruction to students in the Secondary school at Moreton Bay Boys’ College.
This is a fixed-term position for Term 4, 2025. Commencing October 05, 2025 and concluding December 05 2025.
The successful candidate will be passionate about language education, committed to fostering cultural awareness, and able to create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment.
The Spanish Teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Languages Department and contribute to the broader life of the College.
All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church Day school from PP–12.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver Spanish lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and achievement.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to enhance language acquisition.
- Assess and report on student progress in accordance with College policies.
- Participate in departmental planning and professional development.
- Contribute to College events and co-curricular activities as required.
- Actively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Strong knowledge of Spanish language and culture.
- Ability to motivate and engage students in language learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education and Spanish.
- Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
- Experience teaching Spanish in a secondary school setting is desirable.
- Familiarity with the Australian Curriculum for Languages.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Queensland College of Teachers registration is essential.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position involves active engagement with students in classroom settings.
- The ability to stand, move around classrooms, and participate in school activities is required.
