Cresstec are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to join our talented team on a permanent, full-time basis based in North Rocks, Sydney, with hybrid work flexibility. Duties & responsibilities:
Design and prototype software, firmware, and hardware solutions for proof-of-concept features and products
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to determine technical specifications based on business use cases, guided by the Product Manager
Implement, test, debug, and provide ongoing support for software, firmware, and hardware solutions as they are deployed in the field
Develop systems and processes that ensure a high quality of coding that can be maintained
Collaborate with the Product Manager to lead the development of system architectures, addressing functionality, performance, and maintainability challenges
Develop simulations and optimisation algorithms for system performance
Work alongside our electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, and other engineering teams to design and build prototypes and production ready products
Mentor junior team members, sharing technical concepts and fostering growth
Experience & qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ commercial experience designing and developing embedded solutions
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Strong background in embedded firmware and software development
Proficiency in C/C++/ Python for development, testing and debugging of embedded hardware, firmware and software
Familiarity with microcontrollers and developing drivers for various embedded systems
Practical experience in electronic design and CAD tools such as Fusion360, Eagle, Altium, or similar
Experience with product development processes and system design
Experience with embedded Linux (and the creation of such systems), particularly with Yocto, is advantageous
GUI and cloud platforms experience is a plus
Full Australian working rights and residence (candidates outside the Sydney area must be willing to relocate)
