Informatech is seeking a Permanent Linux Engineer to support the development, deployment and integration of secure Linux-based systems for a major Defence program. You’ll contribute to the performance, resilience and security of ICT systems critical to Defence operations. Australian Citizenship and an NV2 clearance are required to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Build, configure and implement secure Linux operating systems across distributed and virtual environments.

Integrate enterprise infrastructure software and applications into Linux environments.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Linux SOEs and business applications.

Apply security hardening measures to maintain system integrity.

Develop reusable automated build scripts to improve system reliability and deployment efficiency.

Evaluate emerging tools and technologies for use within Defence infrastructure.

Draft and review SOPs, build guides and technical documentation.

Technical Skills & Experience:

Previous experience working in a Defence context as a Linux specialist.

In-depth knowledge of Linux server environments and hyper-converged infrastructure.

Strong hands-on experience with the following technologies:

Ansible (automation and orchestration)

GitLab (CI/CD and version control)

YUM (package management)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.x to 9.x

Solid understanding of security best practices in Linux environments.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders and project teams.

Australian Citizenship and an NV2 clearance are required to be considered for this role.
