Established in 1994, Youth Focus delivers innovative and accessible mental health services and programs across Western Australia to help at-risk young people aged 12 to 25.
A key component of this is our role as the lead agency across various headspace locations, including headspace Geraldton which forms part of our new Youth Focus Geraldton Youth Hub located on Southern Yamatji Country.

About the Role
This role is entrusted to deliver clinical services to young people in the Geraldton and surrounding areas experiencing complex mental health needs, in a flexible and youth-centered approach.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reporting to the Clinical Lead, manage a caseload of young people with moderate to severe mental health concerns within the YES program.
- Coordinate case management and evidence-based therapeutic mental health care based on individual needs of young people and that promote recovery for the young person and their family.
- Provide mental health assessments (completion of mental state examination, case formulations and individual treatment planning) to determine appropriate care pathways, severity of risk, and complexity of need.
- Develop and implement risk management plans which support young people to manage factors impacting on identified risk of harm.
- Actively engage with young people, their families and significant others in the delivery and evaluation of individual treatment plans.
- Consult, liaise, and collaborate with internal and external support providers to provide an integrated and full range of tailored interventions for young people.
- Provide crisis response and assertive outreach as required, to facilitate engagement and treatment with a young person and their family/significant others.

About You
To be considered for this position, applicants will have:
- Tertiary level qualifications and current full registration with AHPRA or AASW.
- A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with team members, other professionals and outside agencies.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in clinical practice within the mental health field, ideally with young people experiencing mental health disorders
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality assessment and evidence-based psychological interventions, within a stress-vulnerability and recovery framework for young people.
- Must possess a deep understanding and appreciation for diversity within the workforce and within our client and stakeholder base.
- 'C' Class Driver's Licence and capacity to travel for work when needed.
- Capacity to work evenings (until 7pm Mondays and Thursdays).
