Recovery (PACU) & Scrub/Scout Registered Nurses Private Hospital Opportunity

We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Recovery Nurses (PACU) and Scrub/Scout Nurses to join the dynamic and professional surgical team at our renowned private hospital in Brisbane. Your Role as a Recovery Nurse (PACU):

As a key member of our post-anaesthetic care unit, you will:

• Monitor and manage patients emerging from anaesthesia
• Observe and document vital signs and patient responsiveness
• Administer post-operative medications and care (e.g., dressings)
• Maintain accurate patient records and charts
• Provide reassurance and education to patients and families
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Support safe and smooth transitions through the recovery process

Essential Criteria PACU:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Recovery and/or Anaesthetics
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• AHPRA registration (unrestricted)
• Strong clinical judgement and critical thinking
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Team player who can also work independently
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care

Your Role as a Scrub/Scout Nurse:

As a Scrub/Scout Nurse, you will:

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating environment
• Support the surgical team throughout procedures
• Anticipate surgical needs and manage instruments/equipment
• Perform both circulating and scrubbing duties
• Monitor surgical stock levels and restock as needed
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards
• Provide compassionate care and support to patients and families

Essential Criteria Scrub/Scout:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• At least 2 years' experience in a Scrub/Scout RN role
• Unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Knowledge and compliance with ACQSHC National Standards
• Postgraduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (highly regarded or working towards)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Strong clinical, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
