About the role

Gold Coast Private Hospital is currently looking for an experienced Scrub Scout Nurse to join our team of professionals in providing excellent patient care on a casual basis working various shifts across a 7-day roster. Must have flexible with availability, on call and weekend work.

With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.

Your duties will include:

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use
• Assist the surgical team by scrubbing in, passing instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon
• Monitor and manage the sterile field to ensure patient safety and prevent infection
• Collaborate with the surgical team to provide optimal care during surgeries
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of procedures and patient information
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Essential Criteria

• A minimum of 12 months experience as a RN Scrub Scout
• Scrub scout experience in multiple specialties or a willingness to learn
• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Commitment to Quality Patient care
• Confident to liaise and support VMO's
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing situations
• Commitment to maintaining a sterile and safe environment

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Queensland - Nurses Enterprise Agreement " (salaries range between $41.49 and $52.97 per hour + superannuation)
