At Christou Homes, we are growing and looking for the right person to join our team as a Leading Hand. You’ll work on high-end custom homes across Sydney and surrounds, where your craft and leadership will truly make an impact.

About You

You are a proactive and detail-oriented Leading Hand who takes pride in doing things properly. You enjoy mentoring others, solving problems on the go, and working with a team that genuinely has each other's backs.

You will need:

A Cert III in Carpentry with minimum 3 years’ residential site experience

Experience leading a team or ready to step into a Leading Hand role

Strong ability to read plans, coordinate trades, and manage time effectively

High standards of workmanship and a commitment to site safety

Great communication skills — you are confident working with clients, trades and supervisors

Understands that a safe, well-kept site reflects the quality of the build

White Card, driver’s licence, and tools

Your Role

You will support our Site Supervisor and help lead day-to-day activities across our projects.

Construction duties include:

Framing, subfloors, roofing, internal fit-out, doors/windows, and high-end finishes

Reading plans and executing to a high standard

Keeping your site clean, safe and on track

Leadership duties include:

Mentoring apprentices and junior carpenters

Supporting trade coordination and subcontractor relationships

Problem-solving issues as they arise and communicating with the team

What We Offer

$90,000–$100,000 salary (depending on experience)
