FS Equipment is looking for a quality, experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our growing team.

A rare, sought after position focused on rebuilding mid-range and heavy engines and transmissions to ‘better than OEM’ standard. We have ongoing contracts which offer a stable, consistent, long-term role for a tradesperson who is process and detail oriented with high standards for their finished projects.

The experienced Diesel Fitter position involves strip, report and service/rebuild of a variety of components. Primarily marine and mobile mining equipment.

Your duties will include:

• Diesel engine, transmission, and component strip/inspect/report
• Midlife servicing and complete overhaul/rebuild
• Cummins/Caterpillar/John Deere/Kessler/Twin Disc/Spicer and many others
• Maintaining detailed records of stripped and assembled components
• Generating tailored solutions to customer application issues

To be considered for this position you must have:

1. disassembly and inspection
2. component reconditioning
3. assembly and installation
4. testing and commissioning
5. documentation/completion reports

• Recent experience in component rebuilding and the ability to explain your methods of:
• Relevant Trade Qualifications, Heavy Diesel Fitter or similar
• High level of technical ability & industry knowledge
• Reliable transport – HR licence an advantage
• Own hand tools

Preferred experience:

• Previous OEM training/experience
• Marine and mining mobile plant experience
