About the role – Max Term Part-Time Tues to Thurs 8:30am-4:30pm

As a Youth Worker, you will support disengaged young people aged 13–17 to reconnect with education and work towards achieving their SACE. You’ll manage a caseload of up to 25 clients, providing individual support, facilitating group activities, and developing tailored case plans. The role involves close collaboration with families, schools, and community stakeholders, and requires a trauma-informed approach, accurate reporting, and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and flexible learning environment.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Delivering one-on-one case management to support young people in re-engaging with education and achieving their goals.

Planning and facilitating group activities that build wellbeing, social skills, and community connection.

Working collaboratively with families, schools, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated support.

About you:

You are a compassionate and motivated professional with a genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential. You thrive in a flexible, team-oriented environment and bring a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to your work. Your strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and ability to build trust enable you to engage effectively with young people, families, and stakeholders.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

VET Certificate IV or Diploma of Youth Work or Youth Justice.

Evidence of case management experience of more than 1 year.

Evidence of experience of minimum 1 year of working with young people in a learning environment or similar.

Ability to work with others, families, young people, and stakeholders within the Department of Education systems.

Demonstration of clear and effective communication skills, including written and verbal.
