About The Role
As a school-based mental health professional, you will be working daily to apply your clinical expertise and decision-making skills in delivering targeted therapeutic interventions for students with mild to moderate mental health needs. Working closely with key school staff, students, and families, you will support students' mental health, maintain high service standards, and contribute to innovative approaches within the education setting. Your role involves mentorship, leadership, and community engagement to positively impact the lives of children, young people, and their families.
We have two part-time positions available: one working at Loganholme State School for 22.8 hours per fortnight (0.30 FTE) and another working at Rochedale South State School for 26.6 hours per fortnight (0.35 FTE).
Please note that successful candidates may have the opportunity to advise if they wish to combine the fractions of both of these schools (0.65FTE).
Your Responsibilities
As the Psychologist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
- Provide advice on diagnoses provided by external professionals and monitor students' progress.
- Administer specialised psycho-educational assessment of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties including assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning.
