Farm Worker (Mixed Crop and Livestock) – Full – Time Position

Salary: $69,000 - $75,000 per annum (plus super)

About us: Family run farm working with Cattle, Sheep and Goats with some cropping country too. We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Farm Worker to join us at Macalpine farm. The successful candidate will assist with general farming duties and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day care of our crops and livestock, as well as maintaining essential infrastructure and equipment on the property to ensure that the farm runs smoothly.

About the Role

Conduct routine monitoring of crop and livestock health, reporting any issues to farm management

Operate a range of farm machinery for soil preparation, seeding, fertilising, crop spraying, and harvesting. Mainly Wheat and Oats

Carry out general upkeep of farm facilities including sheds, fencing, pens, machinery, and irrigation systems

Handle the loading and unloading of agricultural inputs such as grain, feed, and fertiliser, as well as preparing produce for transportation

Manage water distribution and ensure irrigation systems are functioning efficiently

Feed and water livestock in line with structured feeding programs

Assist with the health and wellbeing of animals, including checking for signs of illness or distress

Move livestock safely between paddocks, and to milking or shearing areas as required

Skills and Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role within a mixed farming environment is highly desirable

Ability to operate and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment

Basic understanding of animal husbandry and crop care practices

Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work in varying conditions

Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare

Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team

Current driver’s licence (preferred)
