About the role

Owens & Associates is seeking a talented and ambitious Graduate Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team in our Brisbane office based in Bulimba. This full-time role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a range of practice areas, including criminal and domestic violence law.

As a Graduate Lawyer, you will work alongside Director, Andrew Owens, providing support and contributing to the delivery of high-quality legal services to our diverse client base.

What you'll be doing

Assisting Director with case preparation, legal research, and the drafting of legal documents

Work towards running your own files.

Attending client meetings and court appearances to gain practical experience

Developing a sound understanding of criminal law procedures

Collaborating with the wider legal colleagues to ensure efficient and effective client service

Continuously expanding your legal knowledge and skills through ongoing training and development

What we're looking for

A recently completed law degree or equivalent legal qualification

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A keen interest in criminal law, with a desire to develop expertise in these areas

A team-player attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues

A commitment to providing exceptional client service and a dedication to the legal profession
