The NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the Goods and Services Procurement Team, as a Sourcing Officer.

Provide procurement expertise relating to Goods and Services Procurement and support stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage sourcing activities to meet business needs and organisational objectives.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Sound experience in managing and delivering procurement and sourcing activities.
  • Knowledge of the NSW Government procurement policies, systems, procedures and legislation including probity.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities to deliver quality outcome in tight timeframes.
  • Strong communication skills to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement management or in a related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

  1. Please provide an example of a goods and services related procurement (sourcing) project you have managed and the process you followed from initiation through to contract execution (300 words max).
  2. Provide an example of a recommendation you have made relating to sourcing strategies and plans to meet business needs and what the outcome was. (Max 300 words).

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC's validity (up to 5 years)
