Personal Support Worker / Companion

Sunday 11.30am-3.30pm

$50 per hour

An Independent, city-based gentleman with Down Syndrome is seeking a companion to join him to get him ready to take on the day.

If you are level headed, think fast on your feet, have an interest in gluten free cooking and have a great sense of humour, then this is the position for you!

Duties:

11.30am- 3.30pm

Assist with morning personal care/grooming and help choose clothing

Assist client to cook breakfast

Assist with light cleaning if and as needed

Accompany client to complete a small shop for dinner ingredients, at Coles Raine Square in the city, then assist client to safely prepare a gluten free recipe for the evening meal.

Spend the remainder of the day sharing stories, chatting or watching a DVD within the Home of client.

About You:

You love to have a laugh

You enjoy cooking

You are passionate about supporting people with disabilities

You have great initiative and will complete a task if you see it is needed

You understand how important routine and stability can be in a person’s life

You will Have

Police Clearance or NDIS worker screening check.

Current First Aid Certificate. Or will to undertake.

WA Drivers License and your own vehicle

Fully vaccinated for Covid-19

Efficient time management skills to ensure completion of tasks without making the client feel rushed

Reimbursement for any necessary km's driven during shift if required

A great team of private support workers are on board and able to support you as necessary

Remuneration of $50 per hour

This is a really important role. We are looking for long-term engagement so please only apply if you are available regularly, on an ongoing basis.
