Gourmet Poultry’s Processing facility is located at Cavan 5094 South Australia, the role offers a diverse working environment, where the safety of our people always comes first. We are seeking a team orientated person to fill the role of an experienced licenced forklift operator within our live bird receival area. This person will need to be a hard-working team player and problem solver who is passionate about improving efficiencies and delivering in a fast-paced environment

Hours of work

We are looking for a person who is flexible to cover various situations within the business and when the need arises, support the team. This role requires individuals to work an early morning shift Monday to Friday Roster with some weekend work and overtime required.

Start times are Monday 3am, Tuesday - Friday 5am. (penalty rates payable where applicable)

Accountabilities

· Prepare and set-up work area for daily production.

· Unloading of livestock from transport carriers and reload with empty modules.

· Loading of livestock to feed production line.

· Collate and record critical information for management reporting.

· Work well within a small team and with minimal supervision.

· Cleaning duties and always maintaining a clean workspace.

· Unloading and storing of receivable good in various appropriate locations.

· Complete manual handling duties -lifting, pulling, pushing, bending and reaching.

· Being an active, respectful team member that is reliable and honours work commitments.

· Get involved with safety, follow the safety rules, speak up and be mindful of risks.

Skills required.

· The ability to drive a forklift safely, effectively, and efficiently.

· Capability to perform repetitious tasks efficiently, correctly, and systematically in accordance with policies and standards.

· Ability to understand, correctly interpret and follow instructions, procedures, and information.

· Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organize work demands and meet tight deadlines.

· Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.

· To be able to successfully communicate written and verbally.

· A record showing work commitment, reliability, and motivation.

· Good levels of fitness are required.

· Forklift license.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the 2020 Poultry Processing Award.
