About the role

FGI Developments is seeking experienced Civil Plant Operators to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. In this full-time role, you will operate a range of heavy machinery and equipment to support the construction of major infrastructure projects across the region.

What you'll be doing

Safely operate excavators, backhoes, graders, loaders and other civil construction plant and equipment

Conduct regular pre-start checks and routine maintenance on assigned machinery

Work closely with the construction team to complete earthworks, site preparation, and other tasks as required

Contribute to the efficient and timely delivery of construction projects

Adhere to all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Civil Plant Operator in the construction industry

Competent in the operation of a variety of heavy machinery and equipment

Hold a current driver's license and relevant tickets/certificates

Strong understanding of construction methods, safety procedures and environmental best practices

Good communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Pass a Drug and Alcohol test daily

Be able to obtain a DCAC ( Defense Access Card )

Pass all medical tests

Obtain a national police clearance

Be able to travel to remote sites when needed

Understanding of GPS and UTS is desired
