About Us
Myimbarr is a fully accredited Aboriginal Out of Home Care & Family Preservation service based in Wollongong. We are dedicated to ensuring every Aboriginal child and young person has a loving and supportive home, whether that be with their parents, extended family, kin, or through other carer arrangements.
We are a family-friendly, flexible workplace that values long-term employment and career growth. Our stable, multi-disciplinary team brings together over 30 years of collective experience and knowledge to deliver high-quality, culturally informed, trauma-responsive casework.
What We Do
At Myimbarr, we empower Aboriginal children, young people, and families through culturally situated, trauma-informed casework. Our service is growing, and we are actively welcoming new team members to help us support more children and families in need.
The Role
We are seeking Aboriginal Caseworkers to join our supportive and dedicated team. This role is open to experienced professionals, those new to the field, and Aboriginal applicants who are passionate about making a meaningful impact in the community.
What We’re Looking For
Aboriginality is a must have requirement – we strongly encourage Aboriginal candidates to apply.
Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field (a Diploma in Community Services with relevant experience will also be considered).
Experience working in Out of Home Care, Family Preservation, or a similar child protection-focused role is desirable but not essential – we provide extensive training!
Ability to build positive relationships and provide strong casework support to children, young people, and families.
Strong teamwork and communication skills (both verbal and written).
A full driver’s license.
Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) & Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
What We Offer
We know that casework is complex and challenging, so we ensure our team feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Comprehensive onboarding with a staged caseload approach – we set you up for success!
A close partnership model, ensuring high-quality training, 1:1 supervision, and ongoing management support.
A workplace culture that prioritises your well-being – we care about our team!
Regular paid rostered days off to support work-life balance.
Clear and meaningful career progression opportunities, including leadership pathways fully funded by Myimbarr.
Attractive salary packaging benefits plus a competitive base salary.
